Job Summary

The NPD Portfolio & Project Support Co‑op plays a key role in helping our Engineering and Product Development teams bring new product ideas from concept through prototyping and launch. This role supports the tools, reporting, portfolio processes, and project coordination that enable visibility, prioritization, and execution across our New Product Development (NPD) pipeline.

This is an ideal opportunity for students interested in product engineering, project management, analytics, or innovation who want hands‑on exposure to real industrial product development.

Job Description Responsibilities
  • Support portfolio tracking for all active NPD initiatives, including timeline updates, risk flags, and progress reporting.
  • Create and maintain project documentation, meeting notes, stage‑gate materials, and portfolio dashboards.
  • Assist in preparing project governance materials for cross‑functional reviews (engineering, quality, operations, marketing).
  • Develop Power BI or other visual dashboards to summarize project and portfolio status for leadership visibility.
  • Support KPI tracking for schedule adherence, milestone progression, and resource needs.
  • Participate in cross‑functional meetings to learn NPD processes, business case evaluation, and engineering workflows.
  • Support process standardization related to portfolio tools, templates, and reporting practices.
Qualifications
  • Enrollment in a bachelor’s program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Product Design, Business with technical focus, or related field.
  • Expected graduation within 6–12 months of co‑op completion.
  • Familiarity with product development lifecycle concepts is a plus (requirements, prototypes, testing, documentation).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Power BI is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with project management concepts or tools (MS Project a plus, not required).
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work safely around development labs or pilot manufacturing equipment.
