Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Building Project Engineer in our Structural Business Unit. This position requires 5+ years of experience.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:- Follow Building Practice production and design standards and procedures as delegated by the Project Manager
- Perform and check structural engineering calculations using company, client, and industry standards
- Participate in the preparation and checking of structural construction drawings created by teammates to meet firm and client requirements.
- Develop and check cost estimates
- Participate in the preparation of reports and studies
- Assist in the management of projects
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines within the firm to assure successful completion of projects
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, Missouri, or Arkansas
- Licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois (preferred)
- Experience with structural design and detailing of water or wastewater plant structures or similar structures (firm requirement)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, or Microstation
- Knowledge of Structural Design Software
- Ability to traverse structural sites, including heights and rough terrain
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must complete a background check
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- Master of Science in Civil Engineering (preferred)
Horner & Shifrin, Inc. offers a comprehensive total rewards package and is committed to fair, competitive, market-based compensation. The target salary range for this position is $95,000 - $140,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and geographic location.
