Compensation & BenefitsStarting Pay: $18.50 per hour
In addition to base salary, this position offers short‑term incentives (bonus and/or commission) and may include long‑term incentives (stock awards). Position SummaryProvides customer service, processes business and individual banking transactions; manages a cash drawer, cross‑sells bank services. Responsible for comprehensive, prompt and efficient customer transactions. Conducts daily cash drawer trial balances, balances and rolls the drawer at shift close, compares system balance, and reports discrepancies as required.
Primary Accountabilities- Maintain knowledge of institutional banking practices.
- Receive cash and checks for deposit, verify amounts, review endorsements, and assess checks for possible fraud or holds.
- Examine cash carefully to guard against counterfeit bills.
- Cash checks in accordance with bank policy, enter transactions into the computer system, and issue receipts.
- Assist customers with transactions and ATM operations.
- Provide accurate customer service to reduce teller differences.
- Understand deposit and lending products and services.
- Identify correct product types through needs‑based questioning to deepen customer relationships.
- Referred bank products and services to appropriate partners, assist customers with electronic services, and enter opportunities into customer information software.
- Serve as relief or backup teller at other Midland States Bank locations.
- Complete all assigned learning activities promptly.
- Actively participate in weekly huddles and one‑on‑one coaching sessions.
- Demonstrate and model Midland States Bank core values that support the bank’s culture.
- Participate in bank‑sponsored community activities.
- Occasional travel for training and team meetings; willingness to travel within market as needed.
- May require work in a Midland office to ensure collaboration and support of internal and external customers.
- Maintain compliance with applicable regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum Requirement:
High School Diploma.
- Stand for extended periods of time.
- Lift and transport coin and currency bags weighing between 25 lbs and 50 lbs as required.
