Financial Analyst
Location: St. Louis, MO (Full-Time, In-Office)
About the RoleCSWR is hiring a Financial Operations Analyst to join our Financial Planning & Analysis team. This role is designed for an early-career professional who is curious, confident, and comfortable working across functions to solve real business problems. It is not a purely technical or back‑office role; you will work closely with operations, engineering, business development, legal, senior leadership, and investors to help translate data into insights that support decision‑making across the organization.
We value judgment, initiative, and communication as much as technical skill.
Financial & Operational Analysis
Financial & Operational Analysis- Build and maintain operating expense (Opex) dashboards and performance reporting
- Analyze monthly results, trends, and key drivers across systems and regions
- Partner with operations and engineering to understand cost structure and performance
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Prepare monthly management reporting and variance analysis
- Help improve reporting accuracy, consistency, and usefulness over time
- Assist in preparing board materials and executive‑level summaries
- Develop investment memos and supporting analysis for capital deployment and strategic initiatives
- Translate financial analysis into clear, concise narratives for non‑finance stakeholders
- Work on cross‑functional initiatives that require financial insight
- Tackle ambiguous questions where data may be incomplete or evolving
- Proactively identify issues, propose solutions, and follow through

- Strong Excel skills (formulas, logic, structured analysis)
- Ability to clearly explain financial concepts to non‑finance audiences
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Finance, accounting, economics, or related degree (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of experience in finance, analytics, consulting, or operations
- Experience with dashboards or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI)
- Experience in a fast‑growing or entrepreneurial environment
- Willingness to ask questions and challenge assumptions. Prior regulatory or utility experience is not required.
- Full‑time, in‑office role based in St. Louis
- Opportunity to travel occasionally for industry events, site visits, or investor meetings (based on interest and business need)
