- Investigate offender’s home, work and social environments for circuit courts and Parole Board; collect, verify and evaluate data; incorporate into reports and records; assess needs and risk levels to determine appropriate supervision strategies to ensure effective offender management and public safety; submit reports to designated legal authorities.
- Contact offenders in their homes, places of employment or confinement and counsel them regarding personal and adjustment problems; attend court to receive court assignments and make reports.
- Assist in vocational, educational and social adjustment planning for assigned offenders; cooperate with public and private agencies and law enforcement agencies; investigate offender violations; take appropriate action including issuance of warrants.
- Prepare statistical reports of activities; administer and observe breathalyzer/urinalysis testing; assist in special investigations, research projects and other activities; serve on committees and task forces within the Department and community; perform other related work as assigned; as employee becomes more experienced, levels of supervision become more general.
- Four or more years of experience as a Probation & Parole Assistant, Correctional Officer, or Office Support Assistant or higher within the Missouri Department of Corrections, OR
- Four or more years of vocational or paraprofessional experience in social services, probation and parole, corrections casework or custody, law enforcement, guidance or counseling, mental health, health, substance use, public and business administration, or closely related experience; AND possession of a valid vehicle operator’s license.
- Note: Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute for the required experience on a year‑for‑year basis at a rate of 30 earned credit hours for one year.

Contingent upon your position, you may also be eligible to receive: A $2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00 pm (noon) and 5:00 am and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center); A $0.75 per hour maximum security stipend if you work full‑time at a qualifying facility;
A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing stipend if you are assigned a regular post within a restricted housing or segregation unit at any facility.
