Compensation

Missouri Baptist Medical Center provides the following pay range:

  • Base pay: $26.97/hr – $46.74/hr
  • Sign‑On Bonus: $15,000*
  • Shift Differential Pay available for night shifts
Role Overview

Are you a dedicated Respiratory Therapist seeking a new opportunity? BJC Health Care’s Missouri Baptist Hospital is seeking a compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our team! In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering care to patients with respiratory conditions.

Full‑time position: 6:00 pm – 6:30 am, 3–12 hour shifts.

Students 6 months from graduating from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program are welcome to apply.

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24‑hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Effectively communicate by participating in the exchange of information including documentation, handoff and works collaboratively with the healthcare team.
  • Provide education and training about respiratory therapy treatments and procedures to others including patients, families, students, new employees and members of the healthcare team utilizing diversity and learning styles.
  • Hold self-accountable and seek out opportunities for continuous learning and feedback and be able to perform multiple related duties, prioritizing and applying effective time management.
  • Perform various diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures according to established standards, procedures, guidelines and policies. Apply respiratory knowledge and clinical expertise, including the ability to assess, analyze and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Demonstrate advanced clinical and critical care skills to support additional job responsibilities such as ECMO support, mechanical ventilator support, bronchoscopies, sleep lab, labor and delivery, cardiopulmonary and circulatory rehabilitation, Basic Life Support (BLS), etc. as needed.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education:

    Associate or CoARC Accredited Program in Respiratory Therapy
  • Experience:

    No prior experience required
  • Supervisor

    Experience:

    None
  • Licenses &

    Certifications:

    Basic Cardiovascular Life Support, Respiratory Care Practitioner, RRT
