Radiology Tech Weekends - SSM Health at Saint Louis University Hospital, 1201 Grand, MO.

  • Department:
    Imaging
  • Sign On Bonus: $20,000 with >1 year’s experience; $15,000 with < 1 year. Paid in full on 1st pay check!
  • Schedule:

    Full time weekends
  • Pay Range starts at: $26.01/hour (Daily pay available)
  • Shift Differentials:
    Weekend Option $7.50/hr plus Weekend $2/hour
  • Location:

    MO-SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital 1201 Grand

Requirements: Completion of Radiology program and ARRT-R within 6 months of hire date. Relocation assistance is available for those who qualify. Qualified external candidates only.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Radiology Director and Manager produces quality diagnostic medical radiographs, including OR, Fluoro, Dexa, or EOS, to ensure proper diagnosis and quality patient care.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE CRITERIA (% of time)

Essential Functions: The Following are essential job accountabilities and performance criteria.

  • Demonstrates the skills to produce quality radiographs. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5,
    6) 50%

Criteria:

  • Produces quality images by using appropriate exposure technique to ensure proper penetration of the area being radiographed.
  • Demonstrates the proper use of metal markers and/or placement of markers electronically.
  • Documents an appropriate patient history containing pertinent information regarding their condition and including patient limitations.
  • Physician orders are written and verified prior to the start of the exam.
  • Performs OR/Surgery cases using C-arms and portable machines efficiently.
  • Supervises and teaches Radiology students exams and procedures as part of their clinical rotation, providing feedback to the Clinical Educator on their performance.
  • Communicates technical information in a manner appropriate for the intended person (patient, coworker, etc.).
  • Responds to changes in workload using time to departmental advantage.
  • Observes established departmental policies, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.

Criteria:

  • Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Adheres to hospital safety and infection control policies.
  • Reports faulty equipment to appropriate persons.
  • Uses protective equipment as needed.
  • Practices Radiation Safety for patients, self, and co-workers.
  • Wears radiation dosimetry badge daily.
  • Attends departmental in-services and meetings as instructed by Manager.

Criteria:

  • Attends appropriate orientations.
  • Attends required in-services.
  • Attends departmental meetings or reads the meeting minutes that are sent through the MOX system in Meditech.
  • Reviews education poster boards located in the department.
  • Performs other duties as appropriate and needed by supervisors.

Criteria:

  • Demonstrates attitude of cooperation and professionalism when working in all areas of the hospital.
  • Displays initiative and enthusiasm for non-routine or extra duties.
  • Seeks out duties that need to be done without being told to.
  • Safety/Infection Control:
    Practices according to safety and infection control policies.
  • Maintains safety standards: universal precautions, environment, attire, HIPAA, etc.

Criteria:

  • Practices universal precautions and disposes of hazardous wastes per established guidelines.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families/employees in accordance with hospital standards.
  • Maintains clutter-free environment.
  • Keeps conversations and background noise to a minimum.
  • Adheres to dress code.
  • Reports risk management concerns.
  • Attends annual mandatory trainings and educational activities.
  • Safety/Fire, Blood Borne Pathogens, Hazardous Communication, TB, HIPAA, etc.
  • Assigned educational courses as required.
  • All patients properly identified by armband or two unique identifiers.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safety.
  • Participates in continuing education.

Criteria:

  • Obtains 24 CE points every 2 years per ASRT regulations.
  • Maintains a good standing rating with ASRT.
