Job Description

The Safety Specialist at The Client plays a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of employees, facilities, and operations. Based in St. Louis, Missouri
, this position involves implementing safety practices, conducting audits, providing training, and ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and company safety programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regularly inspect branch yard, warehouse, and office activities to maintain a strong safety presence.
  • Perform job site safety audits to evaluate compliance with company safety manuals and OSHA regulations.
  • Ensure safety management systems are in place and address any non-compliance issues.
Training and Employee Support
  • Conduct in-person health and safety training programs for all staff, ensuring certifications are up-to-date.
  • Coach employees on safe work practices and intervene when unsafe conditions or behaviors are observed.
  • Maintain clear and concise records of training activities and certifications.
Incident Investigation and Reporting
  • Investigate health and safety incidents to determine causes and prepare documentation.
  • Assist supervisors in preparing proper documentation in compliance with company and legal requirements.
  • Report accidents, trends, and safety issues to appropriate corporate authorities.
Claims Management
  • Manage injured worker claims to help control costs and ensure timely return-to-work processes.
  • Liaise with external agencies such as Workers' Compensation Boards and regulatory bodies.
Safety Program Development
  • Lead the local branch’s Task Safety Analysis (TSA) and ensure updates as needed.
  • Conduct monthly safety committee meetings, fire and emergency plan reviews, and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive compliance under the company’s Gold Link Safety Recognition Program.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Work with branch and field personnel to maintain compliance and promote a safety culture.
  • Represent the company in interactions with external safety organizations and regulatory agencies.
