Position: Part-Time Vascular Sonographer (RVT or RVS) - Days - Outpatient
Location: St. Louis

Position Details

Part-Time / PRN (12 Hours per Week)

Dayshift Hours

Schedule: Two 6-hour Shifts per Week – Tuesday (9am-4pm) & Wednesday (10am-4pm)

Shift Flexibility: Open to adjusting days/times within the facility’s hours of operation (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday–Friday)

No Weekends, Holidays, or Call shifts!

Outpatient Facility (West County)

Non-benefits eligible

Experience: 2+ years of vascular ultrasound experience (preferred)

Requirements
  • Associate degree or Trade School equivalency (or higher level of education)
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) or equivalent
Experience
  • 2 years of experience (preferred)

Overview

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. The Washington University Heart Care Institute in West County offers outpatient services including cardiac catheterization, cardiovascular diagnostic services, cardiac rehabilitation and wellness programs. Located on Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital’s campus, the Heart Care Institute in West County operates Monday through Friday during normal business hours. The services are closed weekends and holidays. The building is centrally located in Creve Coeur in a beautiful park-like setting.

Role

Purpose

The Registered Vascular Sonographer performs a variety of tests to adult and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. Exams include, but are not limited to, carotid imaging, peripheral plethysmography, doppler wave form, segmental pressure, venous and arterial imaging, and thoracic outlet studies. May also perform vascular procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Performs vascular ultrasound imaging examinations and ensures proper documentation of procedures.
  • Performs vascular studies independently; may perform studies on‑call, portable exams, and at other sites as required by work area.
  • Ensures proper function and readiness of all equipment.
Minimum Requirements
  • Associate or Trade School equivalency
  • 2+ years of experience (preferred)
Licenses & Certifications
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) or equivalent
