Social Worker LCSW (Part Time) - Pediatrics Adolescent Medicine
Position Summary: This part‑time position provides mental health screenings, in‑person and telehealth therapy (individual, partner or family), and crisis intervention counseling for patients served by the Adolescent Medicine Center, ages 12–24. The staff initiates and facilitates referrals for inpatient and outpatient mental health, eating disorder, and substance abuse treatment services, including counseling, psychiatry, nutrition, and psychological testing.
This role serves youth and families with diverse backgrounds of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender identity. Cultural congruency, a positive youth development approach and shared youth decision‑making are integral to all client services.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Provide patient and caregiver education and advocacy (IEPs/504s, etc.).
- Conduct safety planning and resource provision.
- Facilitate referrals and community resources for patients and caregivers (outpatient therapy, intensive outpatient treatment, residential treatment, inpatient treatment).
- Verify insurance coverage and assist with insurance issues.
- Answer inquiries from patients and caregivers about community resources.
- Participate in a multidisciplinary team and attend team meetings/behavioral health staffing.
- Help patients secure needed follow‑up appointments and provide telephone follow‑up.
- Normal office environment.
- Outpatient clinic suites located throughout St. Louis city and county; may attend multiple sites.
- Typically sitting at a desk or table.
- Office equipment usage required.
Education &
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work.
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois (depending on location).
- Basic Life Support certification (online certifications without a skills assessment are not sufficient).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of experience with mental health and substance abuse assessment and counseling with youth.
- Training and clinical experience with trauma modalities (e.g., TF‑CBT, DBT, EMDR).
- Background and expertise in working with LGBTQ+ youth and persons of color.
Work Experience: No specific work experience required.

Salary Range: $56,200.00 – $87,100.00 / Annually (based on grade C11).
