Location: St. Louis
Ophthalmic Technician (Non‑Exempt) – Mercy
Responsibilities- Prepare patients for ophthalmology appointments and take ocular, medical, and family history.
- Conduct visual acuity, refraction, OCT, and other required tests.
- Assist the ophthalmologist with minor procedures and pre‑op measurements for cataract and other eye surgeries.
- Schedule surgeries and assist front desk with phone calls and patient messages as needed.
- Perform all duties consistently with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 5+ years of ophthalmology experience.
- Outstanding patient service skills.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- COA and/or COT certification/registration.
- Other relevant skills and knowledge.
