The Radiology Support Technician is part of the provider care team acting in a support capacity for advanced imaging procedures as well as maintaining imaging data reports. The RST is responsible for accurate, timely, and effective provision of imaging support mechanisms. The RST will exhibit excellent customer service skills in line with Mercy Signature Service Standards during all interactions. Responsibilities include the skillful acquisition of laboratory specimens using safe, accurate, and professional methods while observing HIPAA confidentiality and lab policies, transporting drawn specimens to the lab, positioning patients for MRI testing, assisting technologists in all appropriate MRI test methods, and receiving training in MRI safety and IV insertion.

All duties are performed consistently with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards.

• Hours will be 2:00–10:30 p.m., Monday–Friday

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience:
  
  One year phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience.
• Other skills & knowledge: (skills, knowledge, abilities).
• The RST must satisfy specific facility competencies—including checklists, written examinations, and management observation—to be eligible for advancement.
• Must have no active disciplinary actions or performance improvement plans and successfully complete the probationary period.

• Education:
  
  Associate’s degree in health sciences.
• Experience:
  
  More than one year previous experience in a clinical laboratory.
