Lab Technical Coordinator (MT/MLS - ASCP) - Nights

BJC Health Care System is hiring a full‑time Lab Technical Coordinator to work the night shift in the Core Lab  position supports quality control, scheduling, troubleshooting, and training across multiple departments, and helps with equipment and process validation.

• Night Shift: 3‑12 hour shifts per week (6:30 pm‑7 am).
• Full‑time (36 hrs per week), non‑remote.
• Primary & secondary departmental coordination in the Core Lab.
• Rotation: part of the bench rotation.
• Lab equipment:
  Cerner Millennium (LIS), Epic, Instrument Manager, Sysmex WAM, Cellavision, Biorad Unity, Wellsky, Roche, Ortho‑Visions.
• MT/MLS (ASCP) certified.

• Assist with quality control, scheduling, troubleshooting, CAP checklists, training, and equipment/process validation and implementation.
• Coordinate and review staff schedules with supervisors and coordinators to ensure adequate coverage.
• Maintain laboratory services and quality per system, government, and accreditation standards.
• Manage daily technical and administrative shift operations to meet quality service goals.
• Develop and implement QA monitors and processes; evaluate data, identify problems, recommend solutions.
• Train new and existing staff members and laboratory science students in routine and specialized techniques.
• Participate in competency assessments.

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical/Life Sciences or related field.
• MT/MLS or equivalent ASCP certification.
• Minimum 2 years of generalist hospital lab experience.
• Experience in departmental projects, committees, or process improvement events.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft tools.
• Preferable experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technologist, or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
