Summary The facility program manager is responsible for organization and management of all aspects of the Pharmacy pharmacoeconomics program which includes a multi‑million dollar budget for pharmaceuticals and to ensure the pharmacy service is compliant with all federal, V local regulations.
Qualifications Applicants pending completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.

Graduate of an ACPE accredited College or School of Pharmacy with a baccalaureate degree in pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.
D.) degree - Licensure:
Full, current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, Commonwealth or District of Columbia - English Language Proficiency:
Pharmacists must be proficient in spoken and written English - Grade Determinations: GS‑13 – must have 1 year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level
- Manages all aspects of a distinct program to include policy development, quality resources and specialty functions unique to the program to optimize cost effectiveness (budget) and patient outcomes
- Coordinates a single program area of a complex pharmacy operation or multiple program areas within a facility to develop, organize, manage and control complex pharmacy programs
- Develops, implements and manages programs to contain drug therapy costs, including participation in the development of disease management programs
- Designs, conducts analysis and reports drug utilization evaluations to pharmacy management and local Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
- Monitors approved pharmaceutical manufacturer rebate and discount programs to assure appropriate cost savings are realized
- Manages daily functions related to fund control management and processes purchase card orders for pharmacy service budget
- Acts as a purchase cardholder approving official for pharmacy service and oversees purchases of pharmacy procurement technicians
- Supervises and serves as a preceptor for pharmacy students and residents and conducts educational programs for physicians, nursing, pharmacy staff and others as assigned
