BJC Health Care, together with Siteman Cancer Center, is recruiting for our next Cancer Registrar. Our program consists of 20+ ODS-C staff responsible for 10,000+ cases annually across a multi-hospital healthcare system. Epic and Neural Frame/KACI are our core software tools.
OverviewBarnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish Hospital's staff is composed of full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows and other medical professionals. Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Our Oncology Data Services team is a remote, multi-state team of ODS-C team members committed to informing the best patient care through high quality cancer data. Our team reviews all patients that are treated and/or diagnosed with a malignancy at BJC Health Care and Siteman Cancer Center to determine their eligibility for inclusion into the cancer registry database as well as their reportability to the Missouri & Illinois Cancer Registries.
Additionally, our data supports the research engine of Siteman Cancer Center, an NCI designated comprehensive cancer center.
Role Purpose
Performs a variety of functions related to the collection and analysis of oncology data to develop and maintain a comprehensive cancer database. Assists in other activities of the cancer center program to maintain approval by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.
Responsibilities- Maintains the cancer registry program and database.
- Identifies patients who meet criteria for inclusion into the oncology database.
- Completes patient care evaluation studies and other assigned projects.
- Participates on assigned committees as requested.
- Publishes requested reports as required.
- High School Diploma or GED.

- Associate's Degree - Healthcare related field.
