Physician Assistant

Position Title: Physician Assistant (PA)

Reports To: Director of Medical Services or Director of Pediatrics & Women's Health

Classification: Exempt

CareSTL Health is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team. The Physician Assistant participates in delivering health care services as an assistant or extender to the primary care physician.

• Review the work records and practices of the health care delivered at least every two weeks with the collaborating physician.
• Delivers health care services and treatments, administers, dispenses, and prescribes drugs as delegated by the physician.
• Provides after-hours coverage for urgent health care problems for health center patients on a rotational on-call basis.
• Instructing patients and their families about lifestyle changes and self-care techniques that complement treatment plans.
• Referring patients to specialists as needed.

• Practices Evidence Base Medicine.
• Uses electronic health records for documentation.
• Completes and signs encounter note(s) within 24-48 hours.
• Orders Lab test(s) in the electronic health record.
• Reviews and signs/dates lab test results daily in electronic health records and printed results, when indicated.
• Reviews and signs/dates radiology reports daily.
• Follows recall policy for abnormal tests.
• Uses electronic health records for prescribing medication via e-prescribing and to document patient's medications.
• Participates in the health center's Performance Improvement program.
• Assists in the formulation and implementation of the health center's health care plan.

Education: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant school.

Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience recommended.

Transportation Requirement: Must have reliable transportation.

Additional Information: Clinic hours are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; 11 paid holidays per year; full benefits package;
