St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute (SLBMI) seeks licensed psychologists with expertise and passion for Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Note:
Local candidates in Missouri are preferred but not required. We welcome eligible candidates located outside the St. Louis region for telehealth services. Candidates must be professionally licensed in Missouri or eligible to treat patients via telehealth in a PSYPACT state and hold a current PSYPACT credential.
- Clinicians must be trained and/or willing to learn the Linehan protocol and participate in weekly DBT consultation groups.
- Candidates who work well with adult and/or adolescent patients are preferred; subspecialty or additional specialty interests welcome.
- Clinicians can tailor caseloads to match their skillsets and preferences.
- SLBMI offers outpatient care (individual therapy, group therapy) and separate Intensive Outpatient Programs for Adults and Adolescents—opportunity to work at all levels of care.
- Caseload tailoring is allowed according to competencies.
- A centralized intake office to screen and schedule clients.

Full‑time base salary guarantee transitional plan (typically four months) for new providers to build caseload. Specialist‑in‑Training model: six‑month transition plan for licensed providers needing additional training before becoming a specialist. Revenue that exceeds the base salary will be assigned to you, helping you earn beyond minimum.
Qualifications- Minimum Master’s or doctoral degree in a clinical mental health field (MSW, Professional Counselor, Ph.D.) and full licensure in the State of Missouri to practice independently.
- Non‑Missouri psychologists must hold a current psychology license in a PSYPACT state, be eligible for PSYPACT credentialing, and maintain that credential.
- All applicants must be credential‑eligible for managed care panels in Missouri (90‑day wait period for insurance credentialing prior to starting).
