C. Siteman Cancer Center provides state of the art Breast Health Services to the entire catchment area served by the Siteman Cancer Center. Asymptomatic women aged 40 + receive screening services. Women and men of any age receive diagnostic workups for breast abnormalities and problems. Services provided include full field digital screening mammograms and diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasounds, minimally invasive core biospy (done by ultrasound or stereotaxis), cyst arpiration and breast.

needle localizations. All examinations are performed by Certified Radiologic Technologists who are Registered in Mammography by the ARRT. Examinations and special procedures are interpreted and performed by dedicated Breast Imaging Radiologists of the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology. We collaborate closely with the Breast Surgery practice of the Washington University School of Medicine. Our Outreach Program, one of the largest Missouri, offers breast health services to underserved, uninsured low income persons.

Role Purpose

The Registered Diagnostic Sonographer performs ultrasound imaging, including but not limited to abdominal, small parts, and obstetrical, to adult and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders, and assist with needle procedures (i.e., biopsies, drainages, needle placements, etc.). May also perform vascular imaging

Responsibilities

• Ensures proper function and readiness of all equipment.
• Performs ultrasound imaging examinations and ensures proper documentation of procedures.
• Performs studies independently, may perform studies on-call, portable exams, and at other sites as required by work area.
