Part-Time Director of Human Resources
(3 days a week and benefit eligible)
Base pay range$/yr - $/yr

Position SummaryThe Senior Director, Human Resources will guide and manage the overall strategy, direction, and operations of the Human Resources function for the Province. This leader will oversee HR services, policies, employee relations, operations, and programs, ensuring alignment with organizational values and mission. The role requires vision, accountability, and a commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive work culture.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Human Resources team, inspiring a collaborative, service-oriented culture.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Leadership, providing timely insights and analysis on workforce matters.
- Collaborate with Leaders and operational management on employee and organizational issues.
- Protect the organization from employment-related legal risks, working with legal counsel as needed.
- Advance Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) initiatives across the organization.
- Manage HR function costs responsibly while maintaining high operational standards.
- Oversee recruitment, selection, onboarding, and transitions.
- Administer compensation, benefits, and retirement plans.
- Lead employee relations, litigation avoidance/management, and workforce planning.
- Provide strategic HR support to Sponsored Works and their leadership.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Oversee HR training programs and performance management systems.
- Promote and exemplify the values of Reverence, Integrity, Generosity, and Unity.
- Proven leadership of HR teams (6+ members) in diverse settings.
- Expertise in building and implementing HR strategies and operational initiatives.
- Strong employee relations skills, including conflict management and litigation management.
- Ability to influence operational leaders and manage people-related challenges.
- Excellent communication skills—clear, confident, and trustworthy.
- Team building and management, fostering respectful relationships at all levels.
- Sound judgment and decision-making, balancing organizational and employee needs.
- Technical proficiency in HR systems and technology.
- Strategic planning and change management, driving positive cultural change.
- Deep understanding of DEIB strategies and organizational effectiveness.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources or Organization Development.
- 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience.
- Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, employee relations, safety, and training preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and practices, benefits and compensation administration, and HR operations.
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, operate with confidentiality, and collaborate across organizational levels.
- Ongoing affiliations with leaders in successful organizations practicing effective HR management.
