Position Summary

We are currently seeking a talented and professional Human Resources Generalist. Working collaboratively with the Human Resources Director and project team, this position is essential in driving positive employee relations strategies, leading partnering with leadership and on-site managers related to employee issues. They are responsible for leading through employee relations matters including employee complaints, investigations, conflict, and performance management, and making recommendations on solutions.

They also develop proactive approaches to mitigate challenges and educate managers on their people leadership skills. This is a great opportunity for an HR professional who is passionate about employee relations and looking to leverage their skills within a growing organization.

Candidate must be willing to travel or relocate for the duration of a project within the Midwest region. Traveling or relocation incentives provided per company policy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides counsel and support to managers/supervisors on issues of company/HR policy application, production operation Human Resource needs and provides HR services to team members.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve issues of employee concern or conflict in an appropriate, compliant, and timely manner. Scope concerns may be related to code of conduct violations, ethics matters, performance, safety, interpersonal conflict, general conduct, and employment action concerns.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate account of concern or investigation with timely memorialization of the notes and supporting documents, using the appropriate processes and systems.
  • Consult with the HR Director, Labor & Employment, Legal and HR resources, and managers in providing the HR support and employee relations subject matter expertise to recommend solutions and action to resolve employee concerns.
  • Provide regular and proactive communication to Leader and other relevant parties, related to assigned cases.
  • Conduct ER investigations, analyze organizational health issues, and work in partnership with the HR Business Partner to develop and execute plans to address problem areas.
  • Use data and information gathered from investigations to determine appropriate course of action aligned with company policies and procedures.
  • Coach leaders on appropriate follow up and disciplinary action as needed based on findings of performance and/or employee relations concerns.
  • Apply expertise supporting managers and employees through ADA accommodations processes.
  • Maintain a strong partnership with the safety teams to support safety incidents.
  • Facilitate field-based training in support of positive employee practices and relations.
  • Utilize a customer-focused approach to deliver HR solutions through effective partnerships across the HR department and business unit.
  • Utilize influencing skills with managers to reach win/win outcomes that minimize risk to the company.
  • Provide recommendations on promotions, development opportunities, and participation in learning programs.
  • Conduct employee exit interviews, analyze and capture trends, and make recommendations.
  • Produce, review, and analyze a variety of data to support decision making, share outcomes, and help influence solutions.
  • Assists with general and administrative HR duties as assigned, specifically related to onboarding, data, and reporting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Required with 3-5 years' experience in HR with a focus on Employee and/or Labor Relations and manager coaching.
  • Specific experience with conflict management and leading through investigations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of labor, federal and multi-state regulations.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build quick relationships across multiple levels.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to solve complex challenges, leveraging solid critical thinking skills.
  • Must navigate sensitive situations and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Geographically mobile and able to relocate within a region.
