Position Overview

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the day‑day overall HR operations and activities. Provide comprehensive support in core HR functions such as payroll, recruiting, hiring, training, employee relations, and compliance.

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

  • HR Operations.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and steward over the HRIS platform and its critical functions including payroll processing, tax compliance, bridge management, functional updates, and benefits administration.
  • Oversee and manage the complete payroll process for over fifty employees across multiple states and companies. Ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely including new hires, terminations, employee changes, deductions, and time‑off accruals.
  • Partners functionally with accounting, IT, and legal to provide ongoing updates and data entry changes to HRIS system for compensation, promotions, taxes, position, department and G/L changes.
  • Partners with HRIS solutions to ensure all federal, state, and local tax information is up to date and compliant.
  • Conduct ongoing audits of payroll, tax, and benefits invoices.
  • Organize and manage overall HR administrative functions for the department including but not limited to annual law posters, setting up new hires, background checks, E‑Verify, CSO’ s, QMSCO’ s, employment agreements, electronic records, processing employee changes including benefits changes across multiple locations.
  • Manage leave administration process across multiple states.
  • Partner with payroll and Finance to provide support for all state and compliance audits.
  • Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
  • Manage the ongoing talent acquisition process to support ongoing roles for the organization including posting roles, screening applicants, setting up interviews, and kicking off the onboarding process.
  • Partner with the Senior Director to maintain validation tables for job descriptions and recruiting steps in the HR platform.
  • Review and manage the onboarding process for the organization including working cross‑functionally with hiring managers to ensure a successful new hire experience.
  • Partner with the Senior HR Director to continuously improve the onboarding process.
  • Support ongoing training requirements for the organization including but not limited to harassment, ethics, and discrimination to ensure federal and state compliance.
  • Assist Senior HR Director in performance management, employee investigations, headcount management, and other HR partner responsibilities.
  • Support enforcement of all HR compliance policies including tracking, training, and ongoing review.
  • Partner with Marketing to manage company swag.
  • Partner with Senior HR Director on all employee relations cases.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • Three years’ minimum comprehensive experience in Human Resources required.
  • Minimum two years’ experience with ADP Workforce Now HRIS platforms is required.
  • Ability to work autonomously and possess deep organizational skills is required.
  • Understanding of multiple state employee laws including California and New York is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and independent problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to think critically across the business to quickly resolve employee complexities and technical issues.
  • Proficiency in HRIS platforms including payroll, applicant tracking, and compensation software preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
