Position SummaryThe Business Analyst will work closely with Business Functions to understand and analyze how core business processes interact with the ERP systems for Rawlings Sporting Goods Co. Inc. and identify key opportunities for improvement.
Responsibilities- Partner with business users and project teams to collaborate on and deliver the right solutions for Rawlings as a whole. Participate in strategy discussions to understand and capture high‑level business needs. Serve as a conduit between business, IT, and external partners.
- Provide technical oversight or manage small and/or low‑complexity IT projects. Create accurate estimates for schedules for project development and implementation. Estimate individual projects with oversight.
- Recommend best practices to improve efficiency, reliability, performance, and functionality of processes and procedures.
- Facilitate meetings with business stakeholders to understand business requirements; demonstrate understanding of business needs and recommend design changes.
- Design and test solutions in coordination with development team and business representatives.
- Create and document Business Requirements, As‑Is/To‑Be process flows, functional specifications, and other documentation as required.
- Document systems and their interdependencies; maintain design documents to reflect changes introduced by new implementations or support issues.
- Act as a liaison between end users and development teams, ensuring solutions support business objectives and meet end users' needs.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure end‑to‑end processing is effective and efficient.
- Drive the quality assurance process by assisting the business to translate requirements and use cases into test plans and scenarios.
- Define integration touchpoints between JD Edwards and other applications.
- Respond to functional and technical issues, including troubleshooting, issue management, and initiating actions with technical support teams as needed.
- Prepare test data to assist technical resources in debugging and troubleshooting issues.
- Research and submit tickets to Software Vendor support for problem and issue resolution.
- Manage process compliance as appropriate (e.g., internal controls, regulatory requirements, other business processes) including development and delivery of documentation and training material.
- Adhere to standards in both new and existing software, including purchased packages and in‑house development. Follow departmental policies and procedures as well as those for the overall company.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Support during non‑working hours may be required.
- BA/BS in Information Technology or related field of study or equivalent related work experience.
- 3+ years of experience working with IT related systems/projects using a variety of tools and technology at an accomplished level.
- Business Analyst experience is required.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience configuring and supporting JD Edwards Enterprise One (E1) versions 8.9‑9.2.
- Detail‑oriented, critical thinker with excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
- ERP implementation experience in performing business requirement & fit‑gap analysis, prototyping, system configuration, data conversion, integration testing, regression testing, and user training & development.
- Strong functional knowledge in 1+ JDE E1 modules (Distribution, Finance, Manufacturing, Procurement, Sales Operations). Create JDE versions and set processing options. Design menus, UDOs (Watchlists, Orchestrator solutions, Café 1), BIP output, E1 Batch Application and E1 Interactive Applications.
- Experience with any of the following is a plus:
Vertex, K‑Rise, Canon, SQL, DSI, Varsity, 3rd‑party TMS solutions, labeling solutions. - Experience creating functional specifications for RICEWF objects, Visio Process Flowcharts, and Test Use Cases.
- Ability to identify system issues, determine root causes, and provide solutions as temporary workarounds and permanent fixes.
- Experience building trusted relationships with peers and client stakeholders and acting as a trusted advisor.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences, including managers.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
