The Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) Practitioner will provide technical security expertise for facilities, lead and execute TSCM operations, and prepare technical risk assessments, reports, and briefings.
Responsibilities- Lead and execute Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM), Foreign Visit, Gift Inspection, Digital Counter exploitation, and Technical Evaluation activities while ensuring compliance with national and agency-level policies, TSCM program, and TSSC modernization goals.
- Provide technical advice, risk assessments, tailored briefings, and assistance with technical security plans and policy execution for facilities.
- Conduct in‑depth analysis of complex physical and technical security issues, ensuring compliance with ICD 705 (SCIF physical security standards) and DoD standards; identify deficiencies and develop corrective actions.
- Perform Radio Frequency signal‑of‑interest searches, locate identified signals during surveys and IPMS operations, and evaluate electronic processing equipment for security vulnerabilities.
- Prepare all required correspondence, documentation, briefing materials, spreadsheets, and threat reports, including specialized technical risk assessment products and after‑action reports for external engagements.
- 6+ years of experience writing and editing technical documents.
- Interagency Training Center (ITC) TSCM certification.
- At least 40 hours of discipline‑specific development or refresher training each fiscal year, sponsored by the NGA customer.
- Minimum training requirements for DoD network access, including baseline certification for DoD 8570.01‑M Information Assurance Technician Level II (IAT2) compliance, within one calendar year of assignment.
- Telephone security experience (e.g., Telephone Security Group requirements).
- Bachelor’s or post‑graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Credentialed graduate of an accredited federal or DoD CI training academy.
- Must hold TS/SCI clearance, with the ability to pass a polygraph.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time; occasional movement within the office, including file access, communications, and presentations.
