Position details

Position Title: Data Specialist

Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager

Job Status: Full-Time / Non-Exempt

Direct Reports: N/A

Description of this role: The primary functions of the Data Specialist are to maintain the company databases and provide primary desktop and software related technical support for problem resolution. Must have the ability to design and analyze surveys, build data collection systems, and manage data. May plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
  • Oversees day-to-day integrity of database and database procedures.
  • Develops and produces accurate and timely routine and special reports.
  • Complete requested data retrievals for staff as needed. May travel to multiple locations.
  • Accountable for the accuracy and integrity of all data files; performs data entry and oversees the data entry process; recommends policies, procedures, and guidelines for data entry.
  • Manages data acquisitions such as FFSC’s client mailing list.
  • Trains staff on the use of the company’s standard software applications and databases; specify user access.
  • Provides in-house expertise and technical support to end-users on database and software-related issues.
  • Identify, research, and resolve technical problems; document, track, and monitor problems to ensure timely resolution.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of methods of collecting and evaluating information and data related to contract programs.
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with other professional colleagues.
  • Ability to assess situations and make recommendations.
  • Ability to develop clear, concise, and pertinent procedures necessary to implement programs and plans related to projects. Ability to handle multiple projects and work independently.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft products, specifically Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to train end users on products and software to intermediate and advanced levels.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Knowledge of Oracle, Java, C++, and Apricot preferred.
  • Must understand and practice the NASW code of ethics and be able to empathize with FFSC clients and support the agency’s goals and mission.
  • Highly organized, with strong problem resolution and analytical skills. Excellent oral and written communication.
Educational and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
    Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 2 years of related experience.
  • Must possess a valid Missouri driver’s license and have a reliable, insured vehicle.
