JOB TITLE/ROLE : DB2 Administrator

DURATION : 6 MOnths CTH

LOCATION :
St. Louis MO

• Candidates will perform multiple enhancements and upgrades to the current USPS programs. This may include:
• Research, design, develop, and/or modify enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.
• Be involved in the planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards.
• Develop and maintain database schemas to include normalization and de-normalization
• Monitor Databases for reliability and performance
• DB2 Database Experience is required.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related discipline.
• At least 7 years of overall database related work experience.
• Database Definition Language (DDL)
• Be able to create tables and indexes.
• Be able to lookup indexes, stored procedures and triggers for a specific table.
• Structured Query Language (SQL)
• Be able write complex queries to extract data from DB2 database
• Design indexes for existing applications, choosing when to add or remove indexes
• Help developers improve the performance of that query by tweaking it or modifying indexes
• Advise developers on the most efficient database designs (tables, data types, stored procedures, functions, etc.)
• Ensure that new database code meets company standards for readability, reliability, and performance
• Physical and logical data modeling
• Database normalization and de-normalization
• Monitoring databases for reliability and performance
• JCL experience
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be a Self-Starter

• Experience with Oracle and PL/SQL is a plus
