Overview

Senior Business Systems Analysts provide detailed support to teams through requirements gathering, development, analytics, documentation, and testing collaboration. They leverage a deep understanding of specific products, processes, workflows, and data to help teams identify and address viability risks, including legal compliance and privacy constraints, for prioritized initiatives. They assist in creating or refining detailed user stories and acceptance criteria when the product owner requires support.

Additionally, they ensure teams are informed of upcoming changes and help coordinate communications or other efforts to ensure successful solution delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic initiatives to align client expectations, user needs, and product capabilities, synthesizing insights into actionable recommendations. Partner with cross‑functional teams to deliver impactful solutions, driving measurable user value and firm outcomes.
  • Collaborate with development and testing teams to clarify requirements during defect resolution. Prepare test scenarios, facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) by conducting walkthroughs with end‑users, addressing test‑related questions, and lead UAT planning and execution, ensuring business stakeholders are prepared and engaged.
  • Proactively identify, document, and prioritize complex issues impacting project delivery, business processes or system functionality, ensuring timely resolution through collaboration with stakeholders and technical teams. Monitor issue trends to provide strategic insights and recommend long‑term process improvements to mitigate recurring challenges.
  • Use advanced data analytics to drive insights and support strategic decision‑making.
  • Document requirements in a clear and concise format, collaborate with stakeholders across departments to gather insights, and mentor and guide junior analysts, ensuring alignment to standards.
  • Act as a support resource for development teams by clarifying basic requirements and ensuring documentation is accessible and up‑to‑date. Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the development team, ensuring clear communication and alignment on requirements and strategically managing the relationship with development teams, ensuring the solution aligns with business goals and is delivered efficiently.
  • Help prepare user guides, training materials, or quick‑reference documents, collaborate with project managers and technical teams to finalize deployment plans, and oversee deployment plans to ensure alignment with business strategy and organizational goals.
  • Mentor and coach junior and entry‑level BSA’s, contributing to team development and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience with workflow management tools and advanced requirement gathering techniques.
  • Expertise in business analysis methodologies, strategic planning, and department/enterprise analysis.
  • Previous experience with Agile and/or product management concepts (user story writing, Agile events, backlog refinement).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools to provide system prototypes and scenario modeling.
What Could Set You Apart
  • Previous experience with data extraction and BI tools (SQL, Oracle Reporting Studio, Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
