Security Analyst Intern

Salary: $37,440 - 37,440 per year

• We require enrollment in a college or university degree program with at least two years completed.
• We require availability for a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
• We require candidates to live in the St. Louis, Missouri area and work from our St. Louis office.
• We look for strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organization.
• We seek a strong interest in cybersecurity and information security, along with the ability to learn new software and handle sensitive information confidentially.
• We expect proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Coursework in network security, operating systems, networking, cloud computing, risk management, or programming and scripting is preferred.

• You will help us update and improve security awareness training materials and initiatives.
• You will support our information security work in areas such as vulnerability management, third-party risk, governance, policy development, and emerging technologies.
• You will assist with threat intelligence activities, including exploring ways to automate threat intelligence feeds as time allows.
• You will collaborate with our Information Security team and partners in IT, Risk Management, Compliance, and other business units.
• You will apply analytical and problem-solving skills to information security projects while protecting confidential information.
• You will maintain compliance with applicable regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, and perform other duties as assigned.

We are Midland States Bank, and this Security Analyst internship supports our Information Security Department and the Banks information security program. The internship runs from mid-May to early August 2027, is based at our St. Louis, Missouri office, and pays $18 per hour.
