A highly regarded St. Louis-based litigation firm with over three decades of success in trial and appellate advocacy is seeking a skilled Defense Litigation Attorney to join its exceptional team. This is a confidential search conducted by a trusted recruiting partner on behalf of the firm.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in defense litigation involving one or more of the following areas:

• Construction defect and injury
• Transportation/trucking defense
• Professional liability
• Premises liability
• General insurance defense

You'll join a collaborative and battle-tested trial team that represents a wide array of institutional clients and insurers. The practice is known for delivering cost-effective, strategic, and trial-ready advocacy-with the integrity and candor clients value.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently manage and defend complex litigation files from inception through resolution
• Take and defend depositions, conduct written discovery, and prepare dispositive motions
• Develop case strategy with senior partners and clients
• Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and trials
• Collaborate with a dynamic team of experienced trial attorneys who prioritize results without unnecessary expense

Qualifications:

• JD from an accredited law school and admission to the Missouri Bar (Illinois Bar a plus)
• 3+ years of experience in defense litigation, ideally including trial preparation or trial work
• Demonstrated ability to manage files independently and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills
