Position Title: Area Route Manager
Employment Type: Full‑time
Salary Range: $70k- $80k
Position Summary:
The Area Route Manager is the primary leader for a team of Route Delivery individuals. The Area Route Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations. These include, hiring a delivery driver team, leading our driver group, leading our safety initiative, creating and leading a customer service culture, supporting our sales department and controlling operating expenses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
:
Leadership
- Create, communicate and lead by example with a positive attitude

- Demonstrate an unrelenting commitment to provide First Class Service to our customer base (internal and external).
- Work aggressively with our sales team to increase sales, increase customer base & reduce customer churn.

Safety
- Plays a key role in building a safety oriented culture Actively promotes an environment where everyone is encouraged to think safety before acting.
- Facilitate Monthly Safety Meeting Train and enforce safe working habits. Address Safety Issues on the spot.
- Accident and Injury Reporting and Investigation; timely, complete and accurate.
- Learn and be able to execute environmental and government compliance; DOT, OSHA, Health Department
- Primary safety trainer for the location.
Service
- Ensure that we are delivering complete and accurate orders, consistently. Monitor “On Time" deliveries, adjust schedules and work load accordingly.
- Be able to live and lead a team; with a “Customer First" minds
- Reduce special deliveries through training, coaching and accountability
- Minimize or eliminate any interruption in service
- Willing and able to cover routes as needed. Including work withs and solo coverage.
Cost
- Learn and be able to execute Facility and Fleet management and maintenance. Learn and be able to execute Demand forecasting and inventory management
- Analyze the distribution process, identifying and prioritizing opportunities for efficiency, improvement and leading change.
- Identify staffing needs and proactively seek out individuals that would are a proper fit for the company and position available
- Manage P&L statements
