This OpportunityWSP is seeking a Sr Transmission Project Manager for our Power & Energy Program Management Team in St. Louis, MO or Collinsville, IL.  The successful candidate will be responsible for managing technical, schedules, quality, and financial aspects of Power and Energy Transmission Line and Substation projects, managing and developing client relationships. This position may be offered remotely from a mutually acceptable WSP office.  

You must have the ability to travel to a WSP and/or Client office for periodic face-to-face meetings.

Provides project management leadership for the development, execution, management, control, and monitoring of Power Delivery projects, including electric transmission, distribution, and substation infrastructure. Ensures responsibilities across the full project lifecycle—proposal development, planning and project startup, project execution, reporting, and project closeout—are delivered, governed, and audited in alignment with corporate standards and client expectations.

This position is accountable for technical execution, schedules (CPM), financial performance, quality, safety, and client satisfaction on projects of moderate size, complexity, and regional scope. This role applies established project management practices to deliver consistent project outcomes while supporting company, regional, and business line objectives within a dynamic utility and Power Delivery environment.

Your Impact Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout of multiple concurrent transmission line and substation projects of significant size, complexity, and strategic importance.

Provide senior-level project management oversight for scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, risk, procurement, construction readiness, commissioning, and project closeout activities.

Serve as the primary point of accountability for project delivery, proactively identifying issues, driving decisions, escalating risks, and ensuring alignment with client expectations, contractual requirements, and WSP standards.

Maintain regular communications with the client including reporting on monthly status, safety incidents, and major issues together with scope and budget impacts.

Participate in and oversee problem project reviews, providing input about root cause issues and potential solutions.  Assist with developing project recovery plans.

Ensure regular project reporting and updates are provided to clients, technical areas, and business unit managers, identifying any emergent issues with scope, risk, and/or budget.

Develop, maintain, and communicate integrated project schedules, cost forecasts, performance metrics, and executive-level reporting to support transparent decision-making and portfolio visibility.

Manage project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, earned value analysis, change management, invoice review, cost control, and margin protection.

Lead client engagement and relationship development through proactive communication, issue resolution, strategic alignment, and consistent delivery of high-quality project outcomes.

Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, project controls, procurement, construction, environmental, permitting, vendors, contractors, and client stakeholders.

Establish and maintain project governance practices, including risk registers, decision logs, action tracking, change control, contract compliance, quality reviews, and audit-ready documentation.
