Structural Mechanic 4 (Weekend Day Shift)

Role OverviewStructural Mechanic 4 performs a variety of structural assembly operations, including receiving and interpreting structural drawings, executing sheet metal structure tooling, performing aircraft structural repairs, and supporting quality and compliance processes.
Responsibilities- Use sheet metal structures tooling; interpret and understand structural drawings.
- Perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures, including drilling, riveting, and use of portable riveting guns, pneumatic drills, counter sinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, and rivets.
- Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine sequences of operations and correctly specify rivets.
- Maintain and use logs and records such as MIR sheets, DMTs, PCOs, and conformance with FAA paperwork and quality specifications.
- Check all work to ensure defect‑free assembly prior to final inspection.
- Mentor, train, and assist other team members in interpretation of blueprints, drawing and engineering orders.
- Plan and organize workloads and resource requirements to meet or exceed goal hours and schedule expectations.
- Support Lean activities, 5S, safety, and housekeeping policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required. 6 years related structural assembly experience.
- Well trained on using sheet metal structures tooling, understanding and interpreting structural drawings, and experience on aircraft structural repairs.
- Experience with Solumnia and Smarteam preferred, Q‑stamp preferred.
- Good working knowledge of computers and related software.
- Knowledge of close tolerance work and use of special tools and equipment.
- Strong mathematics and dimensional skills (fractions, decimal fractions, whole numbers).
- Ability to work any shift and willing to work multiple shifts as required.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to climb ladders, stands, stairs and work in small or restricted spaces.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
