Responsibilities- Inspect, measure, adjust and test completed metal work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Read blueprints, work orders or production schedules to determine product or job instructions or specifications.
- Assemble, align and clamp work pieces into holding fixtures to bond, heat-treat, or solder fabricated metal components.
- Set up, operate, and maintain welding machines/equipment that join or bond components to fabricate metal products or assemblies.
- Heat and grind metal parts and components using hand tools, torch, or other welding equipment.
- Fabricate and fit substrates as required.
- Monitor the welding, burning and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with all safety procedures, rules and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education – High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience – 3 years of stick welding experience; experience working in shipyards or industrial environments preferred.

Skills and Abilities
–- Intermediate to advanced mechanical maintenance understanding.
- General knowledge of many types of tools.
- Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to read and understand measurements and follow instructions.
- Ability to complete documentation requirements.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift, push, pull 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel and squat occasionally.
- Ability to work around water and in confined spaces.
- Ability to use manual dexterity for small objects.
- Ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions.
- Use of PPE required.

Pay Range$24.00 – $30.00 per hour.
