Position Overview

The Manufacturing Production Planner plays a critical role in ensuring that manufacturing operations run smoothly, efficiently, and on schedule. This position is responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing production plans that support customer demand, maintain optimal inventory levels, and maximize the utilization of equipment and labor. The Manufacturing Production Planner partners with the Production Manager, team leads, inventory control, and the purchasing team to schedule and route jobs across the manufacturing floor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Daily review of ERP Planning System output (workbenches), new customer orders and open jobs.
  • Create and maintain a schedule for production, confirm Bill of Materials (BOM) and routing are correct, setting priorities.
  • Monitor jobs as they flow through the manufacturing process.
  • Coordinate job completion dates with Team Leaders, verify customer order due date, follow‑up with shipping department on prioritized orders.
  • Partner with leads, and production leadership to provide updates as needed.
  • Assist with production reporting.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Technical degree in machining or a manufacturing related field or at least two (2) years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Experience using ERP or MRP systems with strong computer skills.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills, and time management skills.

Preferred:

  • Understanding of grinders, lathes, mills, CNC WC, CNC lathes and CNC mills.
  • Knowledge of metal components, including the use of calipers and drawings.

  • Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Picking, Grasping, Feeling, Talking, Hearing, Repetitive Motions.
  • Close visual acuity.
  • Subject to noise, hazards, and oils.
  • Lift up to 35 lbs.
