• Inspects molds and tools for damage or worn components.
• Tests molds for fit of moving parts and mechanical functioning.
• Tests molds for water leaks.
• Inspects and verifies accuracy of tooling utilizing measuring instruments for conformance to specifications.
• Examines defective or damaged molds and tooling to determine cause of defect and recommends changes or modifications.
• Determines salvageability of defective or damaged molds and tooling.
• Preparation of components necessary for outgoing setups.
• Inspection of incoming molds and tooling new to company (both new and used).
• Preventative maintenance of tooling (cleaning, inventory, storage).
• Preparation of molds for shipment.
• SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  
  Responsible for planning and assigning work in Mold Room Supervisor’s absence. Prioritizes, assigns and supervises the work of Mold Room Inspector/Preparer.

  SKILLS:
  
  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routing reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Responsible for conducting him/herself in a safe manner and adhering to all required safety protocols and policies.
• Required to wear PPE properly in accordance with company standards.
• Keep the area around your workstation clean and free from dirt and debris; this may include cleaning assigned areas of the building or pieces of equipment as instructed by your Supervisor.
• Must be able to work assigned shifts, including working overtime and attending after hour meetings as needed.
• May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

• Monitor and verify activities to ensure that molds coming in and out of the facility meet food safety standards in addition to quality standards.
• Comply with all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed and documented correctly at all times.
• Report any product or process failures that could impact food safety of manufactured product to Quality.
• Ensure all Mold Room employees (in supervisor’s absence) are aware of food safety expectations and are competent in performing them.

• Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experiences are preferred for this position.
