Operator I - Panel Saw Operator 2nd Shift

Join The Gund Company as an Operator I – Panel Saw Operator 2nd Shift. In this role you will support the production of electrical insulation components in a dynamic, team‑oriented environment.

Job Summary

Implement the Production Fulfillment Process steps related to the fabrication of parts according to work orders and customer requirements. Operate non‑CNC production machines such as panel saws, cutoff saws, and sheet sanders. Perform manual and assembly duties using hand tools, paint accessories, drills, and related equipment.

Essential Job Functions
  • Setup and operate multiple types of fabrication equipment:
    Panel Saw, Cutoff Saw, Sheet Sander.
  • Operate tools according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts.
  • Place and secure work pieces using clamps and wrenches.
  • Load, operate and manufacture parts using manufacturing equipment per work orders and blueprints.
  • Assemble parts requiring hand tools, paint accessories, and mechanical devices.
  • Complete work order paperwork.
  • Perform in‑process inspection per standard procedures.
  • Maintain count and perform packaging duties.
  • Participate in cross‑training to learn equipment/processes.
  • Perform routine daily machine maintenance including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Model safe and positive behavior in line with The Gund Company culture.
  • Assist with training other team members and suggest improvements to production efficiency.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED; prior hands‑on manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong math and problem‑solving skills.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Physical ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and perform repetitive motions.
Physical and Environment

Typical shop environment with exposure to noise, fumes, dust, and chemicals. PPE may be required. The role requires standing, walking, and use of hands to possibly lift up to 40 pounds.
