Fabricator, 1st Shift FTE Christy Refractories Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated individual for a position that involves achieving high standards of quality, productivity, and safety in a hands‑on role. This position requires physical labor, including regularly lifting heavy objects (minimum 50 lbs). Ideal for those who enjoy working with their hands and contributing to a team.

• 4x10: 1st Shift – Mon‑Thu (Cast Line) Tue‑Fri (Fabrication)
• 5x8: 1st Shift – Mon‑Fri

• Continuously think of ways to improve work processes, safety, and efficiency, and share ideas, no matter how big or small.
• Work independently and collaboratively on project teams.
• Read and interpret drawings and blueprints to determine necessary parts and weld placements.
• Assemble parts using manual and tool‑assisted methods, including flashing and brazing.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Operate hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws, tape measures).
• Assist with masonry work and tending.
• Operate a forklift (training provided).
• Work with castable.
• Perform other duties as required or instructed by the shift supervisor.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in industrial work is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to learn and use measuring devices such as calipers, steel rules, and tape measures.
• Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Basic math skills, including the ability to perform basic arithmetic and understand common units of measurement.

• Ability to perform prolonged physical exertion.
• Capable of standing for long periods, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in various positions and weather conditions.

Salary: $23.49 per hour
