As a Precision Tooling Specialist, you will serve as a technical cornerstone for our production, R&D, and new product development initiatives. You will leverage your expertise in machining and design to troubleshoot complex tooling issues, fabricate high-precision components, and ensure our manufacturing processes operate at peak efficiency.

As a Precision Tooling Specialist, you will serve as a technical cornerstone for our production, R&D, and new product development initiatives. You will leverage your expertise in machining and design to troubleshoot complex tooling issues, fabricate high-precision components, and ensure our manufacturing processes operate at peak efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and assembly teams to deliver high-quality tooling projects on schedule.
  • Diagnose and resolve production tooling malfunctions to minimize downtime and maintain output quality.
  • Design and fabricate custom jigs, fixtures, and prototype components using advanced 3D CAD modeling.
  • Interpret complex engineering prints and 3D models to plan and execute precise mold builds and repairs.
  • Perform advanced machining operations, including CNC, wire EDM, and sinker EDM, to meet exacting tolerances.
  • Calculate precise coordinates and dimensions using trigonometry and GD&T principles to ensure component accuracy.
  • Mentor junior machinists and provide technical guidance on equipment capabilities and best practices.
  • Develop accurate time and cost estimates for tooling projects to support strategic planning.
Required Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in toolmaking and technical troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD design and modeling software.
  • Strong working knowledge of CNC, EDM, milling, turning, and grinding equipment.
  • Deep understanding of GD&T and engineering calculations.
Preferred Skills
  • Completed formal apprenticeship in tool and die making.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing methodologies and Design for Quality.
  • Proven ability to manage project timelines and delegate tasks effectively.
