Position SummaryThe Donor Engagement Manager (DEM) is responsible for planning and managing all aspects of QOPC philanthropy, including donor relationship management, annual campaigns, major giving, events, and planned giving. The DEM works closely with the Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) to create the annual philanthropy plan and set fundraising targets, meeting specific ministry objectives. The position reports directly to the CPO with a dotted line to the QOPC ministry CEO, Sharon Spruell.
Overviewand Responsibilities
- Front-line fundraising that generates income needed to operate and meet ministry objectives.
- Face-to-face donor visits, events, campaigns, and other fundraising efforts to manage and grow the donor base.
- Interaction with the QOPC ministry board of directors, philanthropy committee, ministry leadership, and central ministry office philanthropy leadership.
- Monthly reviews with the CPO on key metrics such as contacts, qualification, legacy donations, solicitations, dollars solicited, dollars raised, and gifts closed.
- Travel for internal meetings and donor visits as needed when not virtual.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- At least five years of experience in direct fundraising, sales, prospect management, or a donor relationship management position.
- Demonstrated success in building, cultivating, and maintaining donor relationships.
- Experience planning and executing fundraising campaigns.
- Basic understanding of planned giving and legacy gifts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) technology.
- Experience working effectively across department lines.
- Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships with a wide range of individuals and entities.
- Confidence and desire to ask for financial support in person, by phone, and through written communication.
- Adaptability to change and teamwork.
- Creative, organized, and strategic thinking.
- Alignment of values with Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis and Catholic Church teachings.
