AMERICORPS ST. LOUIS - DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Development Associate will support the implementation of successful short- and long-term development strategies through donor/alumni database management, gift acknowledgments, and campaign reporting. The Development Associate should enjoy improving systems, maintaining consistent processes, preparing personal donor correspondence, and conducting research. This position will support diverse activities to implement the development plan, including an annual fund campaign, 1-2 small special events, and a peer-to-peer giving campaign.
Additional executive support duties, including board meeting preparations, travel arrangements, and document management, will be assigned as schedule allows.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enter and maintain donor / gift records in the database (Bloomerang)
- Track all donor interactions / communications and follow-up as appropriate
- Prepare donor acknowledgement and campaign solicitation letters
- Creates donor / campaign reports from database
- Collaborate on the development and documentation of database processes
- Support volunteer committees with correspondence, presentation materials and special events
- Assists with fundraising and alumni outreach events
- Oversee online peer-to-peer giving campaign, including promotions, participant/donor communications, and reporting
- Support Alumni engagement through research, outreach and data collection
- Provide Board and Team support with shared calendars, contacts, and meeting materials
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- $19-$22 hourly, based on experience
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-3 years of experience in project management, database management, event planning and/or fundraising in the nonprofit sector
- Experience working effectively toward mutual outcomes with volunteers, staff, and stakeholders across wide ranging skills, communication styles, and interests
- Strong interpersonal and public communications skills, written and verbal
- Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the principles and practices of fundraising
- Proficiency in data management, CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite
- Ability to attend night and weekend events as needed

ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION
Founded in 1994, Ameri Corps St. Louis (ACSTL) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization engaging annually about 40 full-time Ameri Corps National Service Volunteers in community service. Over 30 years, ACSTL boasts more than 1,200 Ameri Corps alums. Regularly, ACSTL Members travel throughout Missouri and other states completing service projects in partnership with government agencies and nonprofit organizations. In times of crisis or disaster, ACSTL is an available resource to support local, state, and national response services.
In addition, ACSTL provides outreach and support services for unhoused neighbors in the St. Louis area. ACSTL has a nine-member Board of Directors and a dedicated staff of five full-time employees.
The MISSION of Ameri Corps St. Louis is to enhance the professional skills and life-long ethic of those who serve; to respond to critical unmet needs in the areas of emergency response and environmental conservation; to leverage service of volunteers; and to build the capacity of our partnering agencies and communities we serve.
Ameri Corps St. Louis has an annual operating budget of $2.2 million with the goal of 10-15% from philanthropic contributions.
