Team Lead/Charge Nurse – Neurosurgery Innovation Unit – Nights
Position at Barnes‑Jewish Hospital (Plaza Tower, 11th floor).
Pay Range- Base pay: $34.00/hr – $49.00/hr
- Additional $5/hr Barnes‑Jewish Hospital Med/Surg Nurse Differential
- 3‑12 hr shifts
- Night shift: 7:00 pm – 7:30 am
- Work every 3rd weekend

11300 Neurosurgery is a 21‑bed unit caring for post‑cranial, post‑spinal, stroke and other neurological patients. The unit has mostly private rooms with advanced technology, dedicated leadership support and skilled preceptors to foster professional development.

Under manager direction, plans, directs and coordinates unit activities on the assigned shift, performs direct patient care as needed and functions as a clinical resource to nursing and support staff. Assesses, plans, evaluates and documents the nursing process for the unit.
Responsibilities- Facilitates identification and resolution of gaps in care from hospitalization to discharge and into ambulatory care setting.
- Leads development and implementation of complex care plans with defined goals in collaboration with interprofessional team and patient/family.
- Champions evidence‑based practices through participation in journal clubs, practice change initiatives, literature searches and dissemination of new knowledge.
- Analyzes gaps in practice standards, provides feedback to peers and leadership to enhance patient safety.
- Evaluates patient and family experience to improve patient satisfaction and quality of care.
- Role is safety‑sensitive; requires constant alertness and safe work practices.
- Education: Nursing Diploma / Associate’s in Nursing
- Experience: 2–5 years

- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
