Missouri Baptist Medical Center is an acute care hospital in St. Louis County that offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24‑hour adult emergency department and a separate pediatric emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital. It is the first and only hospital in St. Louis
County to be named a Magnet® hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The Missouri Baptist Medical Center Childbirth Center offers advanced medicine in a uniquely personal environment with 42 private postpartum rooms where the same nurse cares for mother and baby with in‑house 24/7 OB and pediatric coverage.
Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.
Responsibilities- Promotes patient and family–centered care in a healing environment and educates patients and families on post‑treatment home care needs and medication administration.
- Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance and engages in professional development.
- Develops, implements, and documents individualized plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with interprofessional team members and the patient, family or caregiver in accordance with established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
- Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care, assessing patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs.
- Recognizes this is a safety‑sensitive position and maintains a constant state of alertness and safe practice.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Experience with postpartum care.
