Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Plans, manages and organizes all aspects of the Nurse Practitioners and other staff as appropriate within the specialty departments at Barnes Jewish and St. Louis Children's Hospitals.

Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets.s to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Provides guidance and direction to Nurse Practitioners which promotes excellent patient care and promotes improved clinical outcomes.
  • Manages the health care of select patient populations through advanced health assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Works closely with department leadership in which nurse practitioners work to ensure compliance with excellent evidence based practice.
  • BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Master's Degree, Nursing

Experience

  • 5-10 years

Supervisor Experience

  • < 2 years
