Overview
Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and one of the nation's top hospitals. The All Heart & Vascular Units provide high‑risk cardiology and vascular care, including advanced heart failure, post‑operative surgery, and complex vascular interventions. The Team Lead/Charge directs nursing leadership, facilitates patient care quality, and collaborates with interprofessional teams to improve outcomes.
Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of complex individual care plans with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
- Facilitate identification and resolution of gaps in care from hospitalization to discharge and into the ambulatory setting.
- Actively utilize evidence‑based practices, participate in journal club, and champion scientific inquiry to advance nursing practice.
- Analyze gaps in practice standards and provide feedback to enhance patient safety and experience.
- Maintain a safety‑sensitive position requiring constant alertness and safe work practices.
- RN license (current and active). BLS required; ACLS certification within 1 year of employment.
- BSN or higher nursing degree preferred; ADN or nursing diploma acceptable.
- 2–5 years of nursing experience in cardiology or vascular units, with 5–10 years preferred for senior roles.
- Strong leadership, critical thinking, and clinical expertise.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- RN license.
- 2–5 years of nursing experience; no supervisory experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- 5–10 years of nursing experience.
