The Surgical Progressive Care Unit cares for critically ill patients requiring a higher level of care. The PCU RN is capable and skilled in managing very complex surgical patients. All patients require central monitoring and frequent monitoring/interventions.

ADN or BSN, 3-12 hours shifts, Nights

PCU is a 19 bed surgical progressive care unit. The patient population is comprised of acutely ill surgical patients requiring a higher level of nursing care and monitoring.

• Facilitates identification and resolution of gaps in care from hospitalization, at discharge, and into the ambulatory care setting.
• Leads the development and implementation of complex individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and the patient, family, or caregiver.
• Actively utilizes and champions scientific inquiry for evidence-based practices.
• Analyzes gap in practice standards and provides feedback to peers in collaboration with leadership to enhance safe patient care.
• BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position.

• Nursing Diploma/Associate's
• 2-5 years of experience
• RN license

• Bachelor's Degree
• 5-10 years of experience
