Clinical Nurse Postpartum PRN

Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Washington University Medical Center, St. Louis, MO

Pay Range

$30.00/hr - $47.28/hr

Job Summary

Provide direct patient care in a 30‑bed Postpartum unit, including routine and high‑risk deliveries. Work in a high‑standard evidence‑based environment, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and participating in nursing committees.

Responsibilities
  • Promote patient and family‑centered care, educating patients and families on illness management, home care, and medication administration.
  • Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, and engage in professional development.
  • Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans with clear goals, collaborating with interprofessional team members and patients/families, and ensuring communication across the continuum of care.
  • Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs in accordance with the standards of care, considering patient preferences, barriers, cultural and spiritual needs.
  • Maintain a constant state of alertness and work safely, as the position is safety‑sensitive.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education:

    Nursing Diploma / Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • Experience:

    No prior experience required.
  • Supervisor

    Experience:

    None.
  • Licensure: RN license.
Preferred Requirements
  • Education:

    Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Experience:

    None.
