Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position requiring at least 2 years of recent cardiac ICU experience and a MO or compact RN license.
Responsibilities- Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of a short-term acute care, Magnet-certified, teaching, Level I trauma hospital
- Provides care to critically ill cardiac patients including those with acute heart failure, CHF exacerbation, post-cardiac arrest, arrhythmias, ventricular tachycardia, and pre-heart transplant cases
- Patient ratio is 1:2
- Performs specialized procedures such as ventilator management, arterial line management, pulmonary artery catheter management, pacemakers, impellas, balloon pumps, LVADs, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and dialysis
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00 - 07:30), with every other weekend required
- Floating within service line may be required as needed
- Uses Epic EMR and experience is required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Contract length of 16 weeks preferred, but 13 weeks accepted
- No local candidates accepted; must live at least 75 miles from the facility
- Responsibilities include management of ventilators, arterial lines, PA/TVP catheters, pacemakers, impellas, balloon pumps, LVADs, acute heart failure and cardiogenic shock cases
- Dress code requires navy blue scrubs
- Parking arrangements available for a monthly fee; separate guidelines apply for night shifts
- Orientation parking requires a $15 fee and is not reimbursed
- No RTO allowed during the first week of orientation; up to 40 hours (5 days) of RTO allowed during the contract
- Travelers may stay up to 18 months at the facility, with a 3-month break required after 18 months
- Must complete online modules prior to start, compensated up to 16 hours for this time
- Active MO or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years current cardiac/CVICU ICU nursing experience
- BSN required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Epic charting experience required
- Must pass Relias EKG exam
- No previous permanent employment with the health system within the last year
- New graduate and first-time travelers are not accepted
- Pending license accepted if obtained prior to start date
