Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU night shift position requiring a MO or compact RN license, ACLS, and a minimum of 2 years recent CVU experience.
Responsibilities
• Work in a Cardiovascular ICU unit at an acute care hospital
• Patient population includes cardio-thoracic surgery, open heart, TAVR, post cath lab, and post cardiac surgery with telemetry
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1 in ICU and 2:1 in Tele shifts
• Night shift schedule is 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Required to work 6 weekend shifts during each 6-week period (every other weekend)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within the cardiac service line may be required to meet facility needs
• Uses the Epic EMR system
• Navy scrubs required
• Responsibilities include post-op care for cardiac patients, management of cardiac assistive devices, and titrating critical drips
• Travelers are required to work holidays as scheduled
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• No more than 7 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed per 13-week contract and none during the first week of orientation
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Parking is free for staff
Requirements
• Current MO or compact RN license is required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiovascular ICU experience required
• Must be ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certified
• Experience with hemodynamics, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Cardiac assistive machine experience preferred
• Pending license may be accepted if requirements are met
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
