Adelphi is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide in-school nursing services at a school setting in St. Louis, Missouri. The provider will support students ages 5-21 with vision impairments, including students with multiple disabilities and deaf-blindness, by providing first aid, administering prescribed medications and treatments, and maintaining student health records in accordance with school protocols and professional standards. The LPN will work under RN supervision and collaborate with school leadership to support student health and safety.

- Current Missouri Licensed Practical Nurse license in good standing, maintained throughout the assignment.
- Experience working with school-age children ages 5-21 who are blind, have multiple disabilities, or are deaf-blind is preferred.
- Registration with the Missouri Family Care Safety Registry and satisfactory background screening, with school approval before services begin.
- Successful completion of a nationwide fingerprint-based background check through the Missouri State Highway Patrol before services begin.
- Provide in-school nursing services to students ages 5-21 with vision impairments, including students with multiple disabilities and deaf-blindness.
- Document pertinent information in student charts and other designated records.
- Follow the school's Health Center Protocol Manual and established nursing procedures.
- Administer first aid and emergency first aid to students and, when appropriate under school guidelines, staff.
- Administer physician-prescribed medications and treatments within the applicable nursing scope of practice.
- Apply knowledge of medication dosages and side effects and accurately record medications and treatments.
- Schedule student appointments, obtain relevant records, and escort students to appointments as required.
- Attend student functions and job-related educational programs as required.
- Report findings requiring further attention to the appropriate supervisor.
- Work under the supervision of the school's Registered Nurse.
- Complete orientation with the Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent before services begin and work directly with designated school leadership.
- Communicate effectively and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Maintain confidentiality of student health information and comply with applicable privacy requirements.
- Maintain required nursing licensure in good standing throughout the assignment.
