American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring a MO or compact RN license and at least 1 year of inpatient med/surg experience.

• Inpatient Med/Surg East unit with 15 beds currently in service and 15 more under construction
• Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:35 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 on days and 1:6-7 on nights (not guaranteed)
• No on-call requirements
• May float to other units based on staffing needs
• Uses Nova Meters for blood glucose, Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo pumps, and SCD machines
• Charting completed in Epic

• Active RN license eligible for licensure in Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri (compact accepted)
• BLS certification from AHA required
• ACLS certification from AHA preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient Med/Surg experience required
• No gaps in employment exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

• Provides direct patient care for post-trauma, surgical, and medical comorbidity patients across all age groups
• Coordinates care with ancillary departments and evaluates care provided by other direct caregivers
• Night shift orientation occurs during day shift; traveler must be available the full week for orientation
• Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1, with no declinations accepted
• Black scrubs required; no open-toed shoes or other attire permitted
• RTO of 5 days or less allowed but must be made up by end of assignment
• Only 1 holiday RTO request permitted per assignment
• Physical demands include standing and walking most of shift, frequent bending, lifting, and turning patients with assistance, and push/pull/grip up to 50 lbs
• High risk exposure to blood and body fluids
• Level 2 Trauma Center with Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level 1 STEMI Center designation
• Local candidates accepted with radius-based restrictions on consecutive local contracts
