American Traveler is hiring a Step Down RN with 2+ years of recent bedside experience and vasopressor titration skills for a 13-week night shift contract.
Details- Acute care hospital Step Down Unit with a 233 staffed bed facility
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Required to work 2 shifts every other weekend
- Floats to lower acuity floors within scope as needed
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active MO or compact RN license required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Must have worked at the bedside within the last 6 months
- ICU experience or high-acuity stepdown experience required due to unit acuity
- Trauma Level II experience required
- Recent travel experience within the last 6 months required
- Skilled in titration of vasopressors, sedation medications, and insulin drips
- Experience with trach vents, arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Provide care for high-acuity stepdown patients including cardiac, neuro, and respiratory cases
- Responsibilities include arterial line management, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
- Manage ventilated and tracheostomy patients along with BiPAP/CPAP and high flow oxygen therapy
- Navy scrub color required
- No parking costs at this facility
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract with no RTO allowed during the first week
- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler to any facility within this health system
- Standard travelers may work up to 18 months before requiring a 3-month break in service
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
